Approaching the last day of my first full week. I can only chuckle at it all. God ~ He is something else!
Monday, I was on my own. My boss was out of town until Wednesday. So I played with the MAC. I even set up my own desk top. I got all my little Monday tasks done by 5:00.
Word:Mac. We are talking no PC here. MAC itself is upside down and backwards to any PC I have hugged in the last 20 years or so. I love my MAC. One of these days when I know it better, I am probably going to get one. Maybe.
Tuesday, office dynamics, interesting. Bulletins done by 5pm. All three of them. I figured i was about 4 hours ahead of schedule. And for the first draft, they weren't so bad. So I thought.
Wednesday bossman is back. Only I was to "inherit" the former desk top, not start out on my own. Long story short, about 2:30 pm, I lost everything I had done on Monday and Tuesday, including my Email and my bulletins. Good practice. So I started over and by 5, I had the bulletins rebuilt. Formatting is quite the challenge. Especially when one doesn't know the short cut keys. But one is learning pretty fast. One is getting a lot of practice.
Thursday, tonight I went home at 5:15. The boss has approved the final cuts. Tomorrow print jobs. We just may very well have bulletins this weekend. I hope.
What an experience to have a job where it is so very evident that it came from God. Peace. Comfort. Quiet. Satisfaction that far outweighs any and all stress incurred along the way.
I have long ago forgotten even that I have dimple. Yes I do. It is located in the right cheek of my FACE. About the time I said yes to this job I saw it for the first time in about 20 years. I have smiled so much and for so long over these past two weeks my dimple hurts. I think that is about the best confirmation of happiness I have ever experienced.
This job really is better than retirement, even.
adieu
