She Barked!

We keep talking about how Banger does not bark. Even wondering if maybe someone had her barker removed. But today no more talk. She barked. Yup twice. One bark each time. At another dog. Hmmmmmm. interesting.

we think Banger is a Cairn/Chihuahua mix actually called Toxirns. Cairns are notorious for going out the front door and not coming back. That is exactly what Banger does. She doesn't run out, she just walks out the door and keeps walking. I think that may be how she got lost.

she loves it outside. especially in the sun. i think Banger and I could soak up all the sun rays this spring.

tomorrow is vet day. and...she is in heat...so....maybe they wont spay her tomorrow. who knows what the rules are....

and life...it goes on. : )

Banger Came Home!

The vet asked me, "what kind of a dog is she?" to which i answered, "um, i don't really know....does 'cute' qualify?" banger has to go to vet thursday. they will give her a check up and keep her over night to spay her. she got a micro chip today befor leaving the dog jail. its mandatory. so far no signs of parvo, but she does have what seems to be kennel cough. not a bad case of it. hopefully the vet can nip it in the bud before it gets worse. she walks on a leash. recognizes what a bed is. loves laying in the sun and today was a perfect day for that! i gave her a bath and she smells o so good! she rides on wayne's lap in the car. she doesn't care for shopping carts. dogs really don't belong in stores anyway. she does not bark. i have her her whimper once or twice, but so far, no barks. and she likes treats. she is thin, but fear not, not for long. she was hungry today when we finally offered her something to eat.

she's a cool dog. little dog. little.

It's BANGER Day!!

OK i have been patient. 10 days have passed. i am gonna go get her.

Banger is coming home!

she has a bed, two actually, two toys, and her good friends got her some shampoo and conditioner and some treats and balls. and some food!

and i am going to give her a bath.

The Letter (okay, The Email)

The question has been raised, "why do you always get into it with others??? Could it be you???"

Yes, it can be me. But not as much now as it used to could be me. And this time, I didn't get into it. This time I directed a letter to the person in charge, who happens to be the person I spoke to previously who told me one thing and now I am again being told something entirely different by his uncaring and rude staff.

The next question, "Why write letters?"

Well, I could easily go to the person in charge and rip some ass (so to speak) but that would not be a very pleasant scene. So I write. Sometimes at length because I just find some of the behavior of our public servants (and private ones, too) way out of line and quite frankly, totally unacceptable. And it is MY tax dollar that pays the bill, as were theirs when I was a public servant. The rules have not changed. There is an expectation of the public servant that service will be rendered in a professional (effective) and efficient manner. No more. No less. And when I feel that someone is not doing their job, I am responsible to make sure they are held accountable. That way I know I am getting the best bang for my (tax) buck. And if no one speaks up, how will anyone in charge be aware a a change that "may" need to be made, certainly and issue that needs to be addressed? and besides the letter, i feel the public should attend commission meetings where appropriate. i will be at the next one @ 6 pm sharp. (FYI, I even write letters when when someone does a great job and I say thank you to the person doing the job!)

As per the director of the animal control here in the county in which i live, Banger will be available 02/13/10, if she exhibits no sign of parvo between now and then. She will not be available this coming monday as some idjit thinks.

patience. Not my best virtue, but mr. director ended his response with, please be patient. so i will.

but i do miss banger....

a funeral

today we celebrated the life of the husband of a long-time employee. an employee, who retired a couple of years ago to be with her husband through what was thought to be his final stages of cancer. he was given six months and lasted 36. and before he was taken up he was able to profess the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. a pretty cool life-story. but what i wanted to share with you after this long, emotionally draining week was a story pastor shared. i think its a question that comes up more often than not, and today my question was answered in a way that i fully understand from many different angles. so i am going to share it with you.

a mom was working in the kitchen when her young son asked, "mom. mom, what is it like to die?" the mom couldn't just pop out and answer such an all consuming question so she went into the bathroom for some prayer and concentration. she returned to her son and said, "you know how sometimes you fall asleep in the back seat of the car when we are on a long trip. and the next morning you find yourself all tucked into your very own bed and and you think how very good that feels. you know you are there because your daddy picked you up from out of the back seat of the car and put you there and tucked you in. well, dying is like that. Father God lifts you up out of where you are and when you wake, you will find yourself in a very comfortable place, a place you will really like to be in."

that's it. i can see that story as a mom and i can feel that story as a Child of God. and it gives me much comfort.

and now, it is friday nite and i am going to go vege for a while.

toodles.

hmmmm, oh yeah....now i remember

have been doing a study of the life and times of Paul by beth moore. The Lord really amazes me,,,how He delivers His messages and the timeliness of them. it makes me chuckle and wonder how we can ever lose sight of Him.

Pray boldly. Sometimes my hesitation stings me. But pray boldly is the way to go, even with a challenge.

Today, Acts 14:3 ~ So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly for the Lord, who confirmed the message of His grace by enabling them to do miraculous signs and wonders.

I have often thought, wow, if God allowed a miracle, oh! so many people would be effected and certainly they would believe.

Read on: Acts 14:15-17 summary: the same two guys, Paul and Barnabas now in Lystra after having fled the last place cause they were going to get stoned, preaches so convincingly the people here believe them to be gods, but there are no miracles in their preaching~ verse 17 says, Yet He has not left Himself without testimony. Their preaching goes on to reveal to them the blessings, the provisions God has made for them. Those provisions in themselves are His testimony!!

Your days may not always contain a "miracle" but remember when you have nothing else befor you, especially in the midst of darkness, remember His provision. It is His testimony! And when you are rolling in His miracles remember they are from Him. Thank Him. Sing His praises and give Him the glory.

God is good, all the time.

Banger, Come Home

ya know, sometimes i just don't believe some things that happen. i just don't get it.

when mr p and i went last friday to see banger the first time and put our bid in for her, mr p kept saying, "yeah, she'll probably get parvo in there." i said "no, no, not to worry, God has this under control....Banger is my birthday dog!"

so today, it is thursday you know, i called. and i actually got a live body on the other end of the phone. that happened after two earlier messages left for a call back made on my behalf by a co-worker went non-responsive. i told the lady i was trying to get a status update on banger and boy did she give me one. banger was exposed to PARVO yesterday!!!! can you believe that????? she tells me i can have her now, today, for $60 rather than $75, under a "medical release." if she made it through 14 days without showing signs of parvo, i would then wait another 10 days for her to rest (Banger, not the clerk) and then they would have her neutered (Banger, not the clerk).

although i was delighted that i could get Banger today, the new circumstances provided a whole new set of...say....challenges. like, what if she does get sick and now i have fork out millions of dollars to fix her, what if she does get sick and poops in my back yard and another dog comes along and gets sick. what if she poops a bloody mess in my house? what if the idjits at the animal control office had done what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it....that i have an answer for....it is: banger would never have been exposed to parvo and she would be home with me tonight!

attempted phone call to supervisor at the direction of the above receptionist. no answer....no return call

phone call back to the receptionist, yes, the supervisor is in today, leave message she will call back. still hasn't happened. they are short staffed and very busy. that is why banger didn't get her medical on tuesday as scheduled and why she was in the cage with a sick dog on wednesday when the sick dog was discovered.

phone call to the animal control DIRECTOR. no answer. message left. "your employees have problems returning calls for one, i hope you call me soon."

phone call to animal control admin office. oh yes, the director is in, i got transferred. he did not pick up,2nd message left and ABRUPT hang up in.

3;00 i leave work to go get banger. we decided we would take her. two minutes out of parking lot mr. director calls. have to pull over to talk on cell. he hears me out. says he will talk to their vet for advice and call me back. office closes at 4 to the public. he call me back 445 and offers to "hold" banger for length of incubation period approximately 10 days. if she shows signs of parvo she will be put down. if she makes it through, she's mine. they will call me.

i will be writing a letter to the county board of supervisors.

pray for banger, please that she does not get sick. the good news is that she was vaccinated upon arrival to the facility and befor being placed in any of the kennels. pray she is covered and does not get sick. Still, not to worry, this is in God's control. i love banger, she is my birthday dog, and i promised i would go back and get her.

pray for county services...that somewhere in their short budgets they can still deliver adequate services to us tax payers rather than just the short end of the shaft.

thank you.

over and out, g'nite.

gub'ment

today i left my place of employment at 9:45 am, where i just happen to be extremly busy, to go get banger. i have waited in eager anticipation of the day arriving. i had my $75 bucks in my pocket. a and mr p rode with me. we were already to adopt the new baby puppy ...my birthday dog!

we were greeted by lit'l miss pissy at the front desk of othe subsidary to the county dog pound known as their "adoption center". it is where you can find animals that have moved from the stray/abandoned cells to these pretty nice cages..with beds even...that look ever so nice to the public. everything was going okay until ms pissy tells us banger is not available for adoption because she has to pass a medical, get spayed, and get her shots. and that she may not be available for about 7 days or so. now that sounds reasonable, however, it is NOT what i was told on friday. and when i tried to 'splain it to her, well she thought she was smarter that me. tired of being nice, i got in her face and told her that she ain't right. then i got a and mr. p and we trudged across the grass to the redemption center [eyeroll] there, while a and mr. p went to find banger, i found the officer in charge of the desk. look these guys are just like the rest of the gub'ment representatives. they don' give a rat's ass about those animals and less about us publics that come in. what gets me is we that are going there to get a dog out pay far more that the jackasses that are bringing their animals in because 'they don't want them any more' [yes, i heard a real live idjit say that] $20 bucks. something is extremely wrong with this system. and a has her own opinion that these gub'ment workers should be out there door to door collecting licensing fees. not a bad idea, but considering the 10 employees county wide...that is quite impossible. and so the cycle goes on. very sad indeed.

in the end, here's the deal. banger has to pass a medical and IF she qualifies she must be spayed. county law. and when she comes back from the surgery (they ship them by the truck load to fresno for the procedure because there are only two vets on staff with the county [shaking head] she gets her rabies. now if she passes the medical a staff person is to call me the night before banger's surgery and i will be able to pick her up the she is returned from fresno. yeah that is how it goes. from what the official officer of the day say, banger is first on today's list for the process. [yay?] so i am thinking maybe thursday but don't place bets on this. only that i will get banger sooner or later. she is my birthday dog!!

i went to see her before i left. she is much more nervous today and told me she can't wait to blow the joint. i told her i would be back soon, don't give up hope, she is MY dog, and to stay away from the tattooists.

THEN a and mr p calls my attention to a little tiny little chi-wa-wa [i don't spell spanish and only can say bad words] it was one -1- month old. a very happy little pup. but it didn't have the earrings on that it was wearing when it was brought to the facility a few days ago. oh so very sad. some one had PIERCED that dog's ears!!!! it had fake (i am sure) diamond earrings...like 1/4 karat size.

what are people thinking??????

chit! stupid!

'g nite.

g'nite lil banger....you will be home soon.
