I heard that somewhere before. A movie, I think. One I have never seen. But a thought that brings this day to a close.
The tumor just didn't go away. We wanted it to and prayed it would. But it was not to be.
We got him when he was about 8 mos old. Rescued him from someone that was going to let him run free because they couldn't take care of him any longer. He was soooo big. And he got soooo much bigger. For the last year, he has kept us running, entertaining us with his shenanigans. He loved hoses ~ to eat them, that is. And shoes. And the ficus tree that he would let ever so gently touch his face and head as he walked under it. He tried taking his own picture with a really nice camera, but dropped it. And always a shake of his head would send his drool flying. He would rest his head right on the counter hoping for a morsel of something to drop or be dropped for him.
Jake kept at life as much as he could. He didn't stop. He ran. He sprang into the air with the power of a dolphin, but not enough grace to be thought a gazelle. And he teased. "Just try and take this ball from me! Come on! Come and try to get it!" ~ you could see it on his face as he ran passed you at 50mph. And he always appreciated his treat cookie, even when he couldn't chew it. Jake carved his place in our hearts.
Where do dogs go? They remain forever in our hearts.
Good dog, Jakie, good boy.
G'nite.

5 minutes
So this past Sunday, we heard a message regarding prayer ~ actually more so that His temple is a House of Prayer. Says it in Isaiah 56:6-7. again in Matthew 21:13. And that our prayers are offered up with incense in Revelation 5:8; 8:3.
But then came the assignment ~ 5 minutes of prayer, offered up, each individually, during the service.
The challenge ~ 5 minutes each day in prayer with our Lord ~communing with Him.
5 solid minutes.
I Timothy 2:8 ~ I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.
Hebrews 4:16 ~ Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
I know, I am Bible thumping. I have to. You see, He delivers us. Prayer is living out the faith He has given you. Pray, be obedient, trust. His grace is sufficient, His blessings abound.
Lord, open our eyes that we may see your miracles and know your Grace.

What a privilege
What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear! What a privilege to carry everything to God in prayer!O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,All because we do not carry everything to God in prayer.
Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere? We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer. Can we find a friend so faithful who will all our sorrows share?Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.Do your friends despise, forsake you? Take it to the Lord in prayer! In His arms He'll take and shield you; you will find a solace there.
Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised Thou wilt all our burdens bearMay we ever, Lord, be bringing all to Thee in earnest prayer.Soon in glory bright unclouded there will be no need for prayerRapture, praise and endless worship will be our sweet portion there.

AmazinGrace
What a weekend.
Our youth group played "Amazing Race" this weekend. And i, i was a "taxi" driver, assisting with their transportation out of town through various events to Carpenteria. Why me? because i LOVE Amazing Race.
What a better way to get out and feel and share His Amazin' Grace. We got a tee-shirt too. and camped on the beach. but best of all, i went sailing with one of the other parents. now THAT was amazing. we were teamed up to drive and in our spare time we found ventura harbor on a perfect day. i have never been out sailing, not even in a lake. but we went out into the ocean (although it was 'splained to me the ocean is like 25 miles out,,,,, i dont know where we were but it sure looked like the ocean to me).
and today during services on the beach a pod (new word) of dolphins entertained while the message was being delivered. pretty neat. no, amazing. His world is amazing. His science is pretty neat to considering you can actually move forward sailing into the wind....

Sagastini
means short saga. thats what this post is....well actually its the end of two saga's. i hope.
the taco dog came by last nite. i ran out the front door, chasing it from the cat's dish. the little fella ran right into his dad's garage while i walked around the mowed hedge. then it comes out of the garage barking at me; like it was in there the whole time. mr. taco was in the garage sucking down a bud. he was not very friendly. i told him about the taco dog eating the cat food, really more concerned for the dog's health than the thousands of dollars i have spent todate on cat food. then i told him about the lying gardners. mr taco stated he was not home friday. aha! mr gardner is a liar indeed. hmmmmmmm......tomorrow's friday...... in the end he answered my beef with, so what do you want me to do about it. nothing. nothing at all. destroying other property and stealing food ~ minor issues,,,,wait,,,,no issue at all. pardon me for thinking you might be responsible for something in your life.
i must say the office manager for my local post office was much more receptive to the idea of accountability, responsibility, and quality customer service.at least he apologized for his negligent staff. oh wait....i didn't tell you about miss rudee, who informed me yesterday at 5:45 pm she couldn't get my mail for me because they were "closed" and basically shut the door in my face. oh yeah. i scurried ashley out of the office at that point, i had to fight off the urge to clean the floor with her face. but mr office manager understands. lucky me i got miss rudee's real name too,,,she was working the counter this afternoon when i dropped by during business hours to get my mail.
,,,and yes, it was amelia's packages that filled the box. yeah, i know...relax. don't become one of "those people".
be nice.

Okay so it's Wednesday
thats for those of you who might be confused and think I am writing about .... friday. But wait! Could it be???? See...i started this blog yesterday on TUESDAY. see the date right above this. i updated the post today to read Wednesday....
calm down. the taco dog hasn't come by....yet. and who knows where his mother and father are ~ they haven't been around this week either. maybe they are all out....which proves my point. the man was (is) a liar!
and now i am on my way to the Post Office. Seems my mail box was so full they have stopped delivery. hey now....don't we pay tax for those services. if i didn't get so much junk mail, my box wouldn't be full. how does one control hard copy spam????? mostly its those danged ads from the local grocery stores where you must shop with their little card or you dont get the sale price anyway. im tellin' ya's we are falling prey to corporate bs. we are.
got gas? if you do you are one of the lucky ones. $70 to fill up to go to work this week. now double what it was just six months ago.
im tellin' ya's we are falling prey to corporate bs.
put your worries to rest.

truth
an interesting concept.
contrary to what is being said by all forms of media, i am not captivated by the "pregnant man" story. you may be, but i am not. im not even captivated by the fact that this man is actually a woman ~ somethings you can not change, not even for money.
5:45....I just pulled up from my md appt. 3 or 4 gardner people doing yard work for my neighbor. i notice my iris patch has been trampled where the hedge between the properties has been trimmed. i go over to one of the guys and i tell him, "hey, you should be careful when you trim those bushes, look what you have done to my flowers." he tells me they (he and the work crew) didn't trim the hedge, the neighbor did. i'm thinking, "riiiiiiight", and rolling my eyes. so i go tripping up to the neighbor'd door. i ring the bell. i knock on the door. no one answers. i go back to the guy and i tell him, "i think you are a liar. why would you be cleaning up the debri from the trimming if you had not trimmed the hedge." he tells me they were cleaning because the neighbor told him to. and then he says, "please, dont disrespect me." and then the neighbor from across the street comes over and talks with him. who know's what that conversation was about but from the hand motions, he told the guy to leave the debri. what the heck????? i am the one with the trampled flowers. in the end the gardeners came over and not only raked up the mess, they cleaned out my flower bed. were they being nice to me or what? because they are the ones the trampled my flowers? so now...im waiting. i am waiting for the little taco dog from next door to come over and eat my cat food i leave out on my front step for my cat. im gonna catch the little dog and have a nice little conversation with my neighbor. the same neighbor that first asked for and then demanded $190.00 bucks towards his having the fence fixed. this neighbor has just about pushed me too far.
c'mere little taco dog,,,,,c'mere little taco dog.
