5 minutes

So this past Sunday, we heard a message regarding prayer ~ actually more so that His temple is a House of Prayer. Says it in Isaiah 56:6-7. again in Matthew 21:13. And that our prayers are offered up with incense in Revelation 5:8; 8:3.

But then came the assignment ~ 5 minutes of prayer, offered up, each individually, during the service.

The challenge ~ 5 minutes each day in prayer with our Lord ~communing with Him.
5 solid minutes.

I Timothy 2:8 ~ I want men everywhere to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.

Hebrews 4:16 ~ Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

I know, I am Bible thumping. I have to. You see, He delivers us. Prayer is living out the faith He has given you. Pray, be obedient, trust. His grace is sufficient, His blessings abound.

Lord, open our eyes that we may see your miracles and know your Grace.

Mercy on those with the Dots

I needed to hear this today, so I thank you for sharing. I struggle with consistency in my time with the Lord, and when I do make the time, I tend to gravitate more toward Bible reading and study and less toward actual prayer. There are a lot of reasons for this and I don't want to take up space on your blog to explain further, but what struck me most about your post was that "His temple is a House of Prayer"; indeed, 1 Cor. 3:16 says that my body is His temple... ergo... _I_ should be a house of prayer. Thanks G.
