This is an article written by a Mr. Robert Keener, based upon an interview he did with Walt Kallestad, Pastor of Community Church of Joy in Glendale, AZ. If you have the time take a look at the article. Pastor Kallestad says some mighty truths that should be considered by each and every one of us, every Christian, regardless of denomination.
Tolerance, intolerance. (see comments to my last post) Obedience, disobedience.
It's pretty clearly stated here in this article. Although this article addresses homosexuality, the issue extends way beyond it. Just thought I'd share.

An interesting read, but that is precisely the reason I have stepped away from my Baptist roots. The Baptists, like so many other groups claiming to be the true Christians, have each put their own "spin" on things. I believe only in the Word of God, without someone else's interpretation, and that is what's written in the Bible. And I won't compromise myself to be tolerant of things and those that are evil.
i believe that is exactly what Kallestad is saying. specifically that the Bible should be a sieve to filter culture/society, rather than culture/society filtering the Bible...
the fact it is an article addressing what is going on in Lutheran ELCA is a mute point, other than one of their own is making / taking a stand for what the Bible says.
But because one will not tolerate certain things does not give one the right and/or authority to condemn. that is best left up to God.
Simply by not tolerating someone or something, doesn't in itself condemn anyone. But you won't do it in my house.
