Much about Thursdays

I have never taken Thursdays too very seriously. The way I look at it, Thursday is the best day of the week. What ever happens on Thursday doesn't much matter, because Friday generally is a wash and by Monday, no one remembers or cares about what happened on Thursday. But then you get a Thursday like today and it just sparks.

Today is Valentines Day. I was at Albertsons at 6am when they opened to buy food for lunches. At the door waited about 20 men, who dashed into the store as soon as the door was unlocked to buy VALENTINES GOODIES. Geez, they really do wait until the last minute. What a kick. Flowers! Balloons! Stuffed animals! Wine! Of course it was packed by the time i got to the check out lines. I had to pay for my card. : )

We, that is me and my man, Wayne, exchanged our cards. We squeezed the foot on the little Valentines Day bear we got from Hallmark, kissed and went our separate ways for the day. When I finally did make my nightly call, he asked me if I got the flowers. WHAT FLOWERS??? I had not received them...but now I have a real good reason to look forward to going to work tomorrow. I'm excited. Flowers from Wayne has been an extremely rare occurrance in our 29 years. Yahoody. I love Wayne.

Okay, so I went to see Nancy today. She's in rehab now....She tells me that she has run into a friend of ours, Judy, who retired a while back, who is in the rehab center recovering from a heart attack. We headed down to the dining room to meet up with Judy who had not yet arrived. While standing in line, Nancy points her out as she, escorted by her family, makes her entrance into the dining room. OMG!!! When I saw her i cracked up laughing . When I stepped into the lobby of the center, I was greeted, by this woman who I thought might have been a couple of bubbles off who said to me, "Hey! What are doing coming into this place???" I thought maybe she was trying to "escape" from facility so I moved around her and only mumbled that I was going to the front desk. After signing in, I looked up to see that the bubble-less woman was gone. Well she hadn't gone to far. SHE was Judy. I laughed soooooo hard. And she did too, because she knew I hadn't recognized her up at the front. Who would have ever thunk it...that we would all meet again...in a rehab center following such illnesses. My prayers are with them both.

And then the very best thing about Thursday nights is its "Survivor" night. I love survivor, even going into the 16th season. Always something to talk about at the water cooler.

Yeah, Thursdays are not to be taken lightly.
