Back in 1975 or so (yes even before some of you were born) the college drama group presented Edgar Allen Poe's "Bells" poem. I don't know if that is the right poem, but if you have read it, you know which one I am talking about. Freaky. Poe is freaky anyway, but the group rang random bells while they spoke that poem.
Jump up 30 years (geez) to 2005....I...yeah me....I am playing bells. In the bell choir at church. I have long since passed up the random bell ringing I started out with and I am way beyond "hell's bells" Mrs. Steelman used to rant about. I am playing Heaven's Bells. No, I don't have wings (they would get in the way anyways). But I am making a joyful noise unto the Lord. Emphasis on noise. But for one that doesn't read music and literally learned how to count to ring, I'm doing pretteeee darn good. Come hear us sometime. Spring Ring, March 1st, St. John's Lutheran Church in my town. Really want more info...click on the link posted on this blog page. Because I do not know how to put it into my post. Hmmmmmm. wait...Rinnnnnnng
Oh...and on the subject of what God hears....what He actually WANTS to hear....our prayers. Let me tell you...He not only hears, He listens, AND He takes action!!! Our God is an amazing God! My Nancy friend, well she is going to rehab. Not the Britney Spears kind, but one for her lungs and her body, cause she has spent the last three weeks in ICU with pneumonia and COPD. So she's going to rehab to get her lungs better and her legs cause they are weak. THAT, dear ones, is a miracle! Thank you, God! And when the weather gets better, we are going to the beach. Yes indeedy, we are!
LOL hey look what I can do: http://www.sjlchurch.org/ez.php?Page=3595 <~~~~thats the link for the church website. I wonder if I can name it so it looks better: guess not....not right now...I gotta run to bell practice. : )
