35 years???? My how time flies!

Back in the olden days, perhaps long before any of you were born, I meet this girl at school, Connie, whose path crossed with mine quite often. Eventually that path was tied, when I married her brother, Wayne. Here we are 35 years later, high school long since over, our own children all grown up, celebrating their mother's 75th year.

It is so unbelievable that one of my best friends actually became my mother-in-law. We actually worked together for a few years before I ever met lover-boy. The story goes (according to me) that Ms Virginia paid Wayne to take me to the movies. Now was that because she loved me so much or because she felt at 23 I was fast becoming an old maid?

Yes, my Mommasita is 75. She was 40 back in those days. When she asked about her figure, I told her quite matter of factly, "Virginia, you have a matronly appearance." ROFLMAO still to this day. When I turned 40....i learned quickly that I too would have been offended if some young kid told me that!! I didn't have a clue back in those days, I really didn't.

Most of the youngsters today don't have a clue either. But you know...those kids are smart, too. They are highly technical multi-taskers. Clueless multi-taskers. Kind of scary.

My favorite daughter ~ Ashley ~ and I, after watching videos of the birthday party, have come to the conclusion it is now time to do something about our weight. Like I told her, at least she's not fat, ugly, AND old. Soooo its back (yes, back) to the gym. She's good. She's up to 60 minutes on the eliptical. Not to shabby. I keep offering her sandwiches ~ I just don't want to be the only fat one around. Old, fat one to boot.

The there is Wayne. He's dropped 15 lbs on the treadmill. He's fast becoming the hottie he was 30 years ago, even with gray hair. Nice. LOL

Before you go to bed tonight and when you rise tomorrow morning, Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise Him in the valleys and in the mountains. He has been true to His children. He is the Lord and giver of life. Praise Him for life-everlasting.
